Chapter 4: Children at the Lord's Table in History
Summary: The Lord's Supper was provided to covenant children in the Early Church. This practice was gradually abandoned due to errors in connection with the doctrines of the Lord's Supper (i.e. transubstantiation) and of the episcopacy (i.e. the role of the bishops). Although briefly revived among the Hussites in the fifteenth century, it had not received serious attention since the Reformation until the late twentieth century.
Chapter 5: Objections Answered
Summary: Many objections are posed against paedocommunion, but these lose their force when we consider such factors as the following: 1) the status accorded covenant children in Scripture; 2) the correlation between baptism and the Lord's Supper in Scripture; 3) the character of the sacraments as taught by Scripture.
